Activity Treehouse with Walkways
Come rain or shine there will always be plenty of fun to be had in or around this activity tree house.
A tree house with a labyrinthine complex of platforms and walkway transforms this under-utilised, sloping garden into a magical childhood world.
The tree house is situated on a large platform surrounded with lollipop fencing. It has a stable door to the front with a diamond shape cut out in the top section and a letterbox in the bottom section. There is also a doorbell which really gives children a sense of ownership and pride in their tree house.
The treehouse has four non-opening rectangular windows, two to the front, with window boxes underneath, and two to the back. There is also a shutter set with diamond cut outs on the left hand side.
The tree house is fully insulated and plywood lined, internal accessories, such as a bench and table have been included to ensure that rainy days never stop play and the tree house has been made extra homely by the inclusion of curtains at the windows.
The treehouse sits on an 8ft (2.4m) square platform leaving space to the left hand side that leads to a choice of raised walkway route options.
The left hand route leads via a ramp to a 4 ft (1.2m) square platform. This platform is 4 ft (1.2m) above the ground and includes a high pitched roof that gives a "look-out" feel to the platform; a bell has been installed so that an alarm can be raised if any potential "invaders" are spotted. Adults with food supplies are generally allowed to approach.
The look-out platform leads via a bridge, to the third platform, this platform is the same size as the look-out platform and has a climbing wall with knotted rope attached and a large hanging swing seat beneath.
Following the right hand route from the tree house involves following a series of walkways to the fourth platform. This platform measures 4ft (1.2m) by 5ft (1.5m) and accommodates a slide. It has been built adjacent to an existing play castle.
Lots of fun and and active play accessories have been included in this project and will surely banish cries of "I'm bored" forever!
The tree house and shelter roofs are both finished in slate effect tiles.
