Two castle towers and a playhouse
A castle on a hill. This is not just a castle it is a whole Fortified garrison on a steep hill including two towers a large playhouse a fortified bridge and interlinking platforms.
This castle and playhouse was designed to go in a steep garden location, the ground was sloping at about 25 degrees. This is an advantage for a project like this as it enhances the feeling of different heights when you are exploring it.
The Play structure was also set well into existing shrubs to increase the magical feel when having fun.
Staring at the top you walk onto the first platform at ground level which gives access to a fully weatherproof house with pyramid style roof. The house is a good size allowing plenty of room for a gathering of the troops in between battles, it has a standard door, with a cross cut out in it, and 4 rectangualr glazed windows, two of which are opening: a small vertical ladder leads you to a higher platfrom which has a slide coming off from it, which leads you straight under the castle bridge.
The platform extends down the hill and gives access into one of the castle towers, from here comes a climbing wall and also access to the bridge take you across to the 2nd tower. This tower has a vertical internal ladder going back down to the ground and a scramble net giving lots of routes for the children to discover. Each tower is 1.2m square.
To the side of the castle tower is a single swing seat.
