The main playhouse is on a 4ft high platform: The front has a central stable door with a diamond cut out window on it and an opening window either side of it, the right hand side has a standard door with diamond shape cut out and the left hand side has a non opening rectangular window. The roof has wooden cedar shingles on it and a straight facia and ridge board. This platform increases in height to 5ft to the right hand side to accommodate a slide and an access point for the rope ladder. The double swing gantry extends 10ft to the right hand side with two tyre swings. On the front left hand side there is a vertical tunnel net with a climbing wall on the front. Internally the play house walls are insulated and lined with plywood and has a removable table and two benches. Below the playhouse is a storage area with an access door on the right hand side, these walls are just ply lined, not insulated: a hanging swing seat and a punch bag were fitted. To the left hand side of the platform is an additional platform, access to this platform is via a staircase.

Floor - Raised on a Platform

Your playhouse comes with a solid floor, it is constructed using 25mm x 50mmm tanolised bearers supporting an 18mm wbp external grade plywood floor: this is treated on the upper side using sadolin classic timber protection. Sandwiched between the bearers and plywood is a damp proof membrane that then wraps around the edge and sits under the playhouse side. The membrane is there to stop moisture coming up. A soft floor is fitted to the ground floor of the playhouse once finished - this floor can be removed easily for cleaning. This is then sited on to a decking platform.

Roof - Wood Shingles

The playhouse roof is built to withstand the English climate; 75mm x 50mm bearers are put across from side to side. Screwed to these bearers is 12mm external quality plywood covered with two layers of base waterproof membrane and then wooden cedar shingles, using galvanised staples. The felt is wrapped over the front and back and sealed behind the facia board; there is also a ridge board fitted along the top ridge, these boards can be either straight or shaped.

Sides - Option 3

This is our highest level of build, the playhouse will have a damp proof membrane in the walls, full insulation and flat plywood lined walls on the inside with architrave around the doors and windows and skirting board around the bottom of the walls.

Initially a framework is built using 50mm x 38mm timber. To this we fix on the outside a weatherproof membrane and good quality redwood ship lap using galvanised brads, insulation panels are fitted between the framework before 6mmwbp plywood in fitted as an internal skin, this makes the side panels. Architrave is fitted around the doors and windows and skirting around the bottom of the walls. These panels are then sanded and treated on the outside using two coats of Sadolin wood preservative. These are then fitted together on site, a clear silicon seal is applied to all the corners.
