The playhouse is set in the back right hand corner on a 2ft platform that is accessed via a staircase, the roof of the playhouse extends over a veranda area. There is then an additional staircase that takes you up to a 4ft high platform, this extends all the way down, around a tree, and then leads on to a wobble bridge which in turn leads to a castle lookout tower. Coming off the platform is a firemans pole and a basket ball ring, coming off the lookout tower is a slide, whilst underneath is a hanging swing seat. The front of the playhouse has a central stable door with a diamond shape window and a letterbox in it, either side of the door is a non opening rectangular window, both have false shutters fitted. There is another two non opening windows in the left hand side. The roof has felt shingles on it and then finished off with a facia and ridge board.

Floor - Raised on a Platform

Your playhouse comes with a solid floor, it is constructed using 25mm x 50mmm tanolised bearers supporting an 18mm wbp external grade plywood floor: this is treated on the upper side using sadolin classic timber protection. Sandwiched between the bearers and plywood is a damp proof membrane that then wraps around the edge and sits under the playhouse side. The membrane is there to stop moisture coming up. A soft floor is fitted to the ground floor of the playhouse once finished - this floor can be removed easily for cleaning. This is then sited on to a decking platform.

Sides - Option 2

This level of build is a popular option as it gives the additional benefits of a damp proof membrane in the walls and a smooth surface on the inside that is suitable for decoration. Initially a framework is built using 50mm x 38mm redwood timber with rounded edges. On the outside of this we fit, using galvanised pins, 6mm wbp external plywood followed by a damp poof membrane and then good quality redwood shiplap, this makes the side panels. These panels are then sanded and treated on the outside using two coats of Sadolin wood preservative. These are then fitted together on site, a clear silicon seal is applied to all the corners.

Roof - Felt Shingles

The playhouse roof is built to withstand the English climate; 75mm x 50mm bearers are put across from side to side. Screwed to these bearers is 12mm external quality plywood covered with 2 base coats of waterproof membrane and then a top layer of felt shingles giving the apperance of tiles. The felt is wrapped over the front and back and sealed behind the facia board; there is also a ridge board fitted along the top ridge, these boards can be either straight or shaped.

Doors - Stable

All our doors are built with safety as a paramount concern. All are special a non-trap design, using piano hinge down the whole length of the door, and then a rebate on the inside of the hinged side. When the door is in the closed position there is a taper between the door and frame, so should little fingers be left in the way they will not be pinched. Doors are held closed with heavy duty magnets on both sections of the door; this prevents a child getting locked in accidentally, and has a special flange on the bottom half to prevent little fingers being caught when the top door is slammed against it. The window on the door is glazed with unbreakable 2mm polycarbonate sheet. Doors have a knob inside and out.

Other - External Staircase

All staircases are built at an angle of 45 degrees with no more than 180mm between treads, they are built using tanolised timber with grooved decking used for the treads. All staircases above 300mm have balustrade rails on the side.
