This playhouse and platform provides lots of fun for children and looks great. The playhouse itself is set on a ground level decking. It is a cottage style with a stable door on the front with a non opening window either side of it. Below the left hand window there is a name plaque. On the left hand end their is a set of shutter windows which are great for imaginative play and a diamond shaped window above them. The roof has a slate effect finish and their is a scalloped facia. To the left hand side of the playhouse there is a sandpit included within the decking which has a decking lid which can be lifted off. This ground level decking area has lollipop fencing around it and is accessed via gate. From this decking area there is a staircase that goes up to a 5ft platform which has a tyre swing underneath. This platform can also be accessed via a climbing wall and a rope ladder. This platform steps down onto an additional platform which has a slide coming off the right hand end.

Specification of this Cottage playhouse with platform
Floor - Ground
Your playhouse comes with a solid floor all ready to be laid onto a sub base, this can be shingle stones/concrete/paving slabs/tarmac/decking. The floor is constructed using 25mm x 50mmm tanolised bearers supporting an 18mm wbp external grade plywood floor: this is treated on the upper side with sadolin classic timber protection. Sandwiched between the bearers and plywood is a damp proof membrane that then wraps around the edge and sits under the playhouse side. The membrane is there to stop moisture coming up from the ground.
A soft floor is fitted to the ground floor of the playhouse once finished - this floor can be removed easily for cleaning.
Roof - Slate
The playhouse roof is built to withstand the English climate; 75mm x 50mm bearers are put across from side to side. Screwed to these bearers is 12mm external quality plywood covered with two layers of waterproof membrane and then eternite slates fixed. These look just like real slate. The felt is wrapped over the front and back and sealed behind the facia board; there is also a ridge board fitted along the top ridge, these boards can be either straight or shaped.
Windows - Shutters
Shuttered windows are built to the same high specification as our doors. All are a non-trap design, using a piano hinge down the whole length of the shutter, and then a rebate on the inside down the hinged side. When the shutter is in the closed position there is a taper between the shutter and the frame, so should little fingers be left in the way they will not be pinched. The shutters are held shut from the inside using brass bolts. Our shutters have a knob both inside and out and can have a shape cut out if required.
Windows - Non-opening Glazed
The windows are built as separate units; once they have been sanded and treated they are glazed and then fitted and sealed using clear silicon into the frame. These windows are glazed with 2mm polycarbonate sheet, this is completely clear, will not fade or become brittle with time, it is 200 times the strength of glass making it virtually shatter proof.
Sides - Option 2
This level of build is a popular option as it gives the additional benefits of a damp proof membrane in the walls and a smooth surface on the inside that is suitable for decoration. Initially a framework is built using 50mm x 38mm redwood timber with rounded edges. On the outside of this we fit, using galvanised pins, 6mm wbp external plywood followed by a damp poof membrane and then good quality redwood shiplap, this makes the side panels. These panels are then sanded and treated on the outside using two coats of Sadolin wood preservative. These are then fitted together on site, a clear silicon seal is applied to all the corners.
Doors - Stable
All our doors are built with safety as a paramount concern. All are special a non-trap design, using piano hinge down the whole length of the door, and then a rebate on the inside of the hinged side. When the door is in the closed position there is a taper between the door and frame, so should little fingers be left in the way they will not be pinched. Doors are held closed with heavy duty magnets on both sections of the door; this prevents a child getting locked in accidentally, and has a special flange on the bottom half to prevent little fingers being caught when the top door is slammed against it. The window on the door is glazed with unbreakable 2mm polycarbonate sheet. Doors have a knob inside and out.
