This large playhouse and play structure is more than any child could wish for. The structure en-corporates a playhouse, castle, decking area and multiple activities for children to play with and enjoy. Starting on the right hand side there is a playhouse on a platform which has a trap door in it with a rope ladder giving access to and from the ground. The initial platform is accessed via a staircase and there is a slide coming down from this. Underneath the platform which the slide comes from is a hanging swing seat. From the playhouse there is a higher platform which leads to another lower platform which is built into trees in the garden. The central platform has a castle surround with lots of portcullis style windows which gives a good view all round and really creates an adventurous feel. In front of the castle is a double swing set, underneath the castle is a tyre swing and at the end of that walkway there is a climbing wall creating lots of fun for children. From within the castle you can reach a rope bridge which leads to another platform which is around a tree. This platform has access via a staircase but there is also a fireman's pole coming from that platform. On the left hand side there is an additional swing gantry with a rubber tyre horse fitted. At the back of the structure is a lollypop fence with a gate in it which gives access to the area behind the structure.

Roof - Felt Shingles

The playhouse roof is built to withstand the English climate; 75mm x 50mm bearers are put across from side to side. Screwed to these bearers is 12mm external quality plywood covered with 2 base coats of waterproof membrane and then a top layer of felt shingles giving the apperance of tiles. The felt is wrapped over the front and back and sealed behind the facia board; there is also a ridge board fitted along the top ridge, these boards can be either straight or shaped.

Floor - Decking

Decking can be laid at ground level either as a floor for a play-frame, a sub base for a playhouse or to give an additional play area. The decking boards are good quality grooved redwood boards that are pressure treated. The deck boards are screwed to pressure treated 50mm x 100mm timber bearers which in turn sit on bricks placed at ground level. A weed prevention membrane is fitted below the decking to ensure that there is no plant growth up through the boards. If it is being used as a sub-base or play area a skirt is fitted to match to deck.

Decking can be painted with a non slip rubberised paint, please ask for details.

Sides - Option 3

This is our highest level of build, the playhouse will have a damp proof membrane in the walls, full insulation and flat plywood lined walls on the inside with architrave around the doors and windows and skirting board around the bottom of the walls.

Initially a framework is built using 50mm x 38mm timber. To this we fix on the outside a weatherproof membrane and good quality redwood ship lap using galvanised brads, insulation panels are fitted between the framework before 6mmwbp plywood in fitted as an internal skin, this makes the side panels. Architrave is fitted around the doors and windows and skirting around the bottom of the walls. These panels are then sanded and treated on the outside using two coats of Sadolin wood preservative. These are then fitted together on site, a clear silicon seal is applied to all the corners.
