Just to let you know the children at M L Nursery have had great fun in their castle. They have used it as a Pirates hideout and for playing knights and when we are not watching it inevitable is used as an extension to the play house and taken over by the dolls for tea parties!

Being a wooden product in an English climate there will be a little maintenance needed to ensure that your product remains in tip top condition, but provided this is the case we would expect it to last for many years.

A Playhouse Company product has the following guarantees

The product is guaranteed against structual and design defects for 5 years - This does not cover acts of vandalism, misuse or exceptional natural events.

Walls and general construction

Timber that is tanolised is guaranteed against rot and insect attack for 10 years.

All other timber is guaranteed against rot and insect attack for 5 years.
As long as the maintenance instructions are adhered the product will last substantially longer.

Polycarbonate glazing sheet is guaranteed unbreakable for the life fo the product.

Maintenance that is required

Ensure that an air gap is maintained under the base and around all sides; check on an annual basis to ensure that there is not a build-up of debris.

If decking becomes slippery in the wet this is due to microscopic fungi on the surface, wash off with a diluted bleach solution

If small mould growths appear on the inside this is due to lack of air circulation, the solution is to wipe down with a diluted bleach solution as soon as visible.

Regularly check edges and corner to ensure that knocks to the structure have not caused a splinter hazard, if that has occurred sand down with sandpaper and retreat the sanded area.

The wood preservative  paint will need recoating every so often, (the same type of time scale as your house) this does depend on the prevailing weather conditions but would typically be 2 - 4 years.

If you did experience any problems do please get in touch and we will always try and resolve any issues.
